Wedding Ring White

White is such a universal colour - there's really nothing that it does not go with and this is why perhaps women are looking increasingly out of the traditional idea of a yellow gold wedding ring.

Today's ideal wedding ring would be white gold or platinum. Both metals are incredibly beautiful and show off well against the skin. You're also never stuck wondering what jewellery will go with it, what colour your outfit should be, whether or not you should leave your ring on or off because it clashes with the rest of what you are wearing. With these metals, you can just forget about your ring on your finger because just about anything will go with it - and it looks very elegant on its own. These metals are durable too and resist scratches and wearing off remarkably well.

We always recommend platinum as the first choice and most wearable metal. Although, white gold is certainly a beautiful metal and can look stunning, in fact it often does. White gold is by it's nature not as durable as platinum is, while it is unlikely that the difference will be noticed, there is always a greater chance of deformation or a clean break with white gold as opposed to platinum.

When buying platinum it is important to consider the purity (measured in parts to 1000) as pure platinum is porous and not malleable enough to make complicated or good quality jewelry. It is commonly sold at 95% purity, (950/1000 parts) and this in our experience is the best ratio. It gives you the durability of platinum while at the same time smoothing out the disadvantages.
